The beach of Rena d’a Carrubba, is a small pebble beach located north of Cersuta, in one of the most beautiful coast of Maratea. On this beach there is the cave of Cersuta (or cave of Providence).
It seems that this cave was discovered by chance by a young pastor who, during a day in May of 1843, to cure boredom, threw stones towards the coast. But one of the stones, passed through the entrance of the cave and made a splash as in a pool of water. So ran all the inhabitants of Cersuta, at that time had to go to Acquafredda to take water, and they were excited to see the beautiful interior of the cave, once released from the dense green bush.
The beach Renicedda, is instead a tiny beach located below the houses of Cersuta.
